Hi.
Just bought an Intona 7055-c from Batronix site - batronix.com/shop/USB-isolators/Intona-7055-C.html
On the Intona website it is written that this isolator is compatible with 99% of devices.
I did my own testing on different devices. Here are my results.
Warning - all devices described below work normally when connected directly to a computer
Intona 7055-c v2.0.3
1. Cable OEM usb 3.0 usb-a usb-b 3 meter
usb 2.0 keyboard - OK
usb 2.0 web cam - OK
usb 2.0 mouse (a4tech x7) - FAIL (just not working. no errors at all)
usb 2.0 mouse + external power (a4tech x7) - FAIL (just not working. no errors at all)
usb 2.0 logitech headset h330 - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized' ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 2.0 logitech headset h330 + external power - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized' ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 2.0 dac FIIO BTR5 2021 - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized', only charging ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 3.0 flash - OK
!! usb 2.0 Matrix Element I DAC (main device) - FAIL ('port reset failure' error)
2. Ugreen us210 usb 3.0 usb-a usb-b 1 meter
!! Windows message 'usb device not recognized' without any devices connected ('port reset failure' in the Device Manager).
Then I delete the non-working Intona device from the Device Manager but periodically get this error.
usb 2.0 keyboard - OK
usb 2.0 web cam - OK, but 'port reset failure' message in the Device Manager
usb 2.0 mouse (a4tech x7) - FAIL (just not working. no errors at all)
usb 2.0 logitech headset h330 - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized' ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 2.0 logitech headset h330 + external power - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized' ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 2.0 dac FIIO BTR5 2021 - FAIL (windows message 'usb device not recognized', only charging ('device descriptor request failed' error))
usb 3.0 flash - OK, but 'device descriptor request failed' error
usb 2.0 Matrix Element I DAC (main device) - 10% FAIL (9/10 attempts are successful, but always 'port reset failure' error)
Added: sometimes logitech headset start working normally when I manually remove the broken device from the Device Manager and then update the configuration
Added: tested on two different OS's - the similar behavior
3. Vention usb 3.0 type-c usb-b 1 meter
Generally the same as Ugreen us210. But 'usb device not recognized' message appears too often
So what the problem with compatibility of this device?
poor performance of the Intona 7055-c isolator
Re: poor performance of the Intona 7055-c isolator
I just did new tests with the Ugreen us210 cable through the Baseus usb 3.0 TYPE-C hub: PC TYPEC - HUB - Ugreen us210 - Intona. The same behavior as simply via us210 without a hub

Re: poor performance of the Intona 7055-c isolator
The compatibilty issue is apparently with your host (the PC). USB isolation requires some budget in timing between upstream and downstream packets. From the description I suspect that the USB ports of your PC maybe have a too tight timing to provide the required budget. In this case, I'm afraid that it looks like you're hitting the mentioned 1% from host side.

Thank you. Just a few more questions:
1. Do you have a list of compatible chipsets? Ultimately, the USB problems you write above will depend on the installed chipset. If such list exists, where can I look it up?
2. What settings can be made in the OS and BIOS to fix the problem?
3. Why doesn't the USB mouse work at all? It doesn't even receive power (mouse LED off). Connecting an external power source does not change anything
4. Why connecting Intona via a USB hub did not change anything? Should this change the timings?

Re: poor performance of the Intona 7055-c isolator
There is no list. The issue is really uncommon. I hear about it maybe one time a year.1. Do you have a list of compatible chipsets? Ultimately, the USB problems you write above will depend on the installed chipset. If such list exists, where can I look it up?
I'm not aware of any settings that will fix the apparently hardware issue.2. What settings can be made in the OS and BIOS to fix the problem?
I don't know. Mouses are usually low speed mode (1.1 MBps) which is basically supported by the isolator but out of scope of the typical application.3. Why doesn't the USB mouse work at all? It doesn't even receive power (mouse LED off). Connecting an external power source does not change anything
That's a good question. If I had a copy of your setup on my bench, I could say much more about it within minutes.4. Why connecting Intona via a USB hub did not change anything? Should this change the timings?

If this helps somehow, it's an HP ProBook 4535sThere is no list. The issue is really uncommon. I hear about it maybe one time a year
Will switching usb mode to 2.0 in the BIOS change anything? I'll also try to connect the hub after Intona, and not before, as I did beforeI'm not aware of any settings that will fix the apparently hardware issue
