Hi, Intona. Greetings from Oslo, Norway.
I have noise on my USB port between the computer (dedicated server running RoonOS which is Linux based) and my DAC (Topping D50 III). The noise is not audible on normal volumes, so for now it`s OK. But I suspect (audiophile as I am) that the noise, even not audible on lower levels, is a source for degrading the quality of the sound even on lower volumes.
I`m on my way to buy one of your products, though I`m a litle confused as to which unit (cables) I will need. I gess the 7054 would be sustainable? Also, I wonder if I need any special cables, like dedicated USB 2.0 or if that doesn`t matter at all. All my connections are USB 3.0. Please advice ....
Roon claims that galvanised USB protection is the only way to isolate the datastream over USB. And most people agree.
Please advice....

It looks like the noise you are experiencing comes from a USB ground loop. USB galvanic isolation will directly cure this.
I couldn't find out whether the Topping D50 III does USB 2.0 or 3.0. They only state that it's C-Type, which can do both. You maybe ask their support before.
In case of 2.0, the 7054-X-DK is the model recommended by most audiophile experts.
Here is some more reading about isolation and audio if you are interested: [External Link Removed for Guests]
