I see the device has + and - inputs on separate BNC connectors. This looks quite uncommon to me. Are you using both + and - inputs? If not, I'd try to build an adapter that tightly connects a twisted pair cable (cat5 or so) to +/- and the screen to both BNC GND. If you measure unbalanced, tie the mi...

Re: 7055-C giving low USB voltage even with AUX
Yes it does. 4.5V is reasonable if wires getting long (USB devices should work down to 4.2V). When I look at https://quantasylum.com/products/qa403-audio-analyzer , there is already a built-in USB isolation. And on the screenshot, I can see a 50 Hz deflection. Maybe this is some capacitive coupling ...

It looks like isolation won't help and an intona isolator won't help either. The error description sounds like a synchronization problem. The iMac outputs a packet of audio data every 125 us. It works without the Startech cable? I'm not sure how the Startech active cable actually works. I suspect that it tunnels all 2.0 transfers into 3.0 packets. This introduces issues which may cause trouble like this together with the isolation circuit. I'd try putting the isolator at the other end of...

Re: 7055-D current capacity for DC-DC converter
The DC-DC controller max output is 500 mA. However, the circuit on the secondary side must also be supplied with that power which is about 90 mA.
If you need more current, you must use the AUX port. This is galvanically connected to the secondary side.

The AUX port follows Micro-USB specification. Only +VBUS and GND are used. The data lines are AC-grounded (via capacitor, for EMI reasons) and can be viewed as "not connected". If you reverse the polarity, your AUX supply will be just shorted by the reverse diode of the detector MOSFET. If...

The blinking lights show that the 7054 is stuck in Full Speed mode and didn't reveice a proper reset from the DAC. Placing a hub in between should help. Because a hub can simply switch modes after a timeout while the 7054 with its two isolation sides must rely on proper signalling on both sides.

I recommend 7055-D if you are also using USB 3.0-3.2. If you just need USB 2.0 Hi Speed at your end points, the cheaper 7055-B would do. They share the same 2.0 isolation circuit.

There won't be any difference with the RPi4. Using galvanic isolation requires 100% USB compliant devices and cables. Most audio devices on the market are not tested properly and may stop working when connected to an isolator.
