Re: Any reason for upgrade from a 7054 to newer model?
There won't be any difference with the RPi4. The main difference to the -X model (other than isolation voltage) is that the -X has highly qualified parts that are suitable for harsh industrial or medical environments. It's understandable that this makes a difference in value for hi-end audiophile op...

We happen to have a 4262 in the lab. Yes, you unfortunately need to power the AUX port to get this scope working well. The typical noise out of a standard charging wall wart should not harm the performance of the scope in any way. (Hey, it's just 16 bits and the Picoscope preamp stage is very well d...

Re: Intona USB 2.0 and Devialet 400 not connecting
Using galvanic isolation requires 100% USB compliant devices and cables. Most audio devices on the market are not tested properly and may stop working when connected to an isolator. What very often helps, is connecting a USB hub in between either the device and the isolator or between the PC and the...

My Pi4B here is working perfectly fine. Maybe there is a USB-incompatibility in your setup. Re: Cannot maintain connection with audio analyzer
The ground is completely isolated and has an air gap to extend the creepage distance even beyond the necessary. AUX is coupled tightly to the isolated side. This is for pushing more current to the device where the DC/DC isolation would be too weak. Any quality branded standard PSU has usually a very...

First, the USB 2.0 portion is the same in all 7055 models: isolation voltage is 5kV RMS and there is no intentional capacitive coupling. Isolation is granted between DC and GHz range (limited by the parasitic capacitance that is everywhere in nature and defined by clearance and air gap which is indu...

Re: Cannot maintain connection with audio analyzer
The APx series is known to be a bit flimsy when it comes to analog coupled, redriven 3.0 wires. This is what the 7055-C does. I suggest that you replace your isolator by the 7055-D model. This has true digital, optical, protocol-aware isolation. Another quick solution is to use the USB 2.0 portion o...

It looks to me that it's locked in a loop between suspend and wake-up. This is not normal and probably caused by a transient burst. Re: INTONA USB 3.0 isolator can't work with oyaide 5S V2 USB cable
The isolator needs USB compliant cables. Often, "audiophile grade" cables have the screen or even the ground wire disconnected on one side. This is not compliant at all and this cannot work with galvanic isolation because the isolator breaks the shielding and ground by design and doing this twice is...

Short answer: does only work with hubs in between. Connecting two isolators in chain would violate the packe...

It's interesting to me that your DAC's THD+N measures less than 0.0001%. This is below -120 dB which is not only remarkable but to my knowledge certainly beyond physical limits, even at a BW of 20 kHz. Would you mind sharing more details about this? It just sounds awesome!

Hi Andy, if you are sensitive on the supply rails and are looking for least noise there, the 7055-C is proven to be the most silent. If you are looking for highest overall isolation (so with least parasitic capacitance), you are best with 7055-B. You need to decide yourself at the end, which one is ...

The timestamps are taken from the internal 64 bit counter that is incremented by 10 at 100 MHz, so the resolution 1 ns with 10 ns quantization. That 100 MHz is generated by the FPGA's PLL, clocked by the on-board 25 MHz oscillator (stability: 30ppm). The timestamp is caught exactly at the time when ...
